In DaVinci Resolve, you can move between the video editing, color effects and audio tools with a button click. This makes it possible to create a faster workflow and an easy-to-use interface.
After you created the project, you need to find the correct files and folders on your desktop or laptop. In the media tab you can insert these video files in your project. The selected files can be edited in the non-linear editor in the edit tab. If more advanced effects or motion graphics are required, you can use the tools in the fusion tab to create or use them.
The fairlight tab contains an audio editor, the color tab offers advanced color correction tools and the deliver tab is used to export your project. The quick export feature can be used to upload projects to YouTube from within the application.
Compatible with different file formats and media types
DaVinci Resolve has been designed to work with different file formats, media types and post production software. It is possible to move projects between DaVinci Resolve and other video editing applications such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
The playback engine is designed to make video editing a fluent experience, even for processor intensive formats such as H.264 and RAW. DaVinci Resolve Studio does support hardware encoding and decoding if you are using a compatible graphics card.
No additional costs for the basic version
The non-linear video editing tool DaVinci Resolve does not require a permanent connection to the internet and there are no additional subscription fees. The free version of DaVinci Resolve is an advanced video editor and the perfect choice for beginners.
If you are a professional and require more advanced features, the DaVinci Resolve Studio software remains a good option. The additional features of the DaVinci Resolve Studio version and user collaboration tools make it possible to use the software in a professional workflow, but require a one time purchase.
